Thank you to everyone that came to Mass on Friday morning. It was lovely to see so many families join in with this celebration. 

Weekly Awards 

Each Monday afternoon, one student from each class receives an award. This term, awards are given to students displaying the qualities of Mary McKillop including a love for learning, trying their best and persisting with challenges. Award winners will be acknowledged at the next assembly on the slide show. Congratulations to the award winners for weeks 9 & 10. Included are the photos of the students from weeks 9 and 10.

Tricky Words practice 

In the Foundation students white Term 2 reading diary there are tricky words which we would like you to practice each night. These words appear in many of their readers and have been taught in the classroom. Could you please take the time to practice sets 1, 2 and 3 words daily.  

Assessment 

Throughout this week, the students will be involved in various assessments. If your child is absent throughout the week, can you please contact the classroom teacher, so we can catch up on any student assessments.  

Foundations Learning Focus 

Literacy  

• Sounds ‘g’ ‘l’ ‘k’ ‘u’ 
• Students have been using the sounds they have learnt to write words within sentences.  
• Students are focusing on including capital letters, full stops and spaces between their words when writing sentences. 
• Tricky words: he, she, me, be, we, were, has, look, one 

Mathematics:  Place Value 

• Counting and place value –read, write and order numbers to 20.
