2025 Annual General Meeting Summary
The Annual General Meeting of the College Advisory Committee was held on the Tuesday, 17 June 2025. The Committee reviewed matters raised during the 2024 General Meeting, assessing their progress and completion.
Principal Lisa Harkin presented a comprehensive overview of the 2024 Annual School Report to the community. Her presentation covered key areas, including the Year 10 Work Experience and Placements, and the development of the College's Instructional Model under the leadership of Alysoun Smalley (Deputy Principal – Student Learning Culture and Growth), further details below. Lisa also introduced the approved Curriculum Innovation Proposals, designed to support staff-led initiatives that enhance student learning.
Additionally, Lisa acknowledged the departure of Leonie Broeren (College Receptionist), recognising her 10 years of dedicated service at the College.
The meeting also included a formal recognition of the contributions of four outgoing parent representatives: Cate Bearsley-Smith, Corinne Hodder, Deidre Jackson, and Naomi Simpson.
During the election of Office Bearers, the Committee unanimously re-elected Silvia Pongracic as Chair, a decision warmly welcomed by all in attendance. Joe Pugh was elected to the position of Deputy Chair.
Alysoun Smalley delivered a detailed presentation on the Learning and Teaching strategic pillar. Committee members were invited to provide feedback on the structure and effectiveness of Parent-Teacher-Student Interviews, with discussions also held regarding the current reporting systems for Years 7–9 and Years 10–12. Alysoun then introduced the proposed Instructional Model - a structured framework aimed at enhancing pedagogy through consistent lesson design, delivery, and assessment. The initial phase of this five-year implementation plan is scheduled to begin in 2026.
Elly Martin (Careers and Pathways Leader) presented preliminary data on the post-graduation destinations of the Class of 2024. Encouragingly, 80 of the 88 applicants received offers in their preferred fields of study.
The final presentation of the evening was delivered by Jacinta Johnston (Deputy Principal – Catholic Identity and Mission), who shared insights from her recent trip to Quebec, Canada, where she attended the 2025 International Schools Meeting for Notre Dame de Sion Schools.
