From the Acting Principal

As we come to the end of what has been a busy and rewarding Term 2, I would like to take a moment to reflect on some of the many highlights that have taken place across our school community.
We began the term by welcoming families to our Years 7–12 Parent, Student and Teacher Conferences, a valuable opportunity to strengthen the partnership between home and school. This partnership underpins everything we do to support student learning and growth.
Our annual Anzac Day assembly was a moment of deep reflection and respect, with student leaders delivering a thoughtful tribute to the service and sacrifice of our veterans.
Interschool sport round robins across all year levels saw our students proudly represent our college, displaying teamwork, sportsmanship and determination.
Our Year 9 students participated in the Ignite program, where they not only developed practical workplace skills but also gained accredited qualifications in Safe Food Handling and Barista training. This program continues to build real-world capabilities that will serve them well into the future.
In the arts, our VCE Theatre Studies students presented a powerful and engaging performance that showcased their creativity, collaboration and talent. Meanwhile, we celebrated Careers Week, Italian Week and International Week, offering students opportunities to explore pathways, culture and global citizenship.
Academically, students in Years 8–11 have now completed their mid-year exams, and our Year 12 students have undertaken the General Achievement Test (GAT), an important milestone in their final year of schooling.
Finally, we end the term on a high note with our 58th Avenues Exchange, a tradition that continues to bring students together through sport, culture and friendship. Congratulations to all involved, and thank you to the staff and families who supported this incredible event.
Looking ahead, a reminder that Term 3 begins with our VCE and VCE VM Parent, Student and Teacher Conferences on Wednesday 23rd July. We encourage all families to take part in these important conversations about progress, goals and support.
Thank you to our dedicated staff, students and families for a successful term. I wish everyone a restful and safe holiday break.
Warm regards
Brooke Matthews
