Holiday Borrowing and Book Week

It has been another fantastic term in the library. Thank you to all the children who have borrowed and enjoyed reading all our amazing books. Thank you to the children who come to the library at lunchtimes to enjoy our fantastic library. Thank you to the amazing library leaders who also come each lunch time. The help they give me is appreciated so much and keeps our library neat and tidy.

Each day our library is a hive of activity with the buzzing of children enjoying all that we offer. Please continue to come and enjoy this amazing space.

Holiday Borrowing

Children can borrow extra books in the holidays. A great book can keep children occupied for many hours.

Please ensure that your children have returned all their books this week so they will be able to borrow for the holidays.

If children forget their books on Tuesday, they can still bring them back and come to the library at lunchtime any day of the week.

Book Donating for Education Week

We will be having book donating during our Education Week.

On this day, we will have a large range of new books available to donate to our library.  Visitors will be most welcome to come to the library with their child/ren to select a new book to donate back to the library.  There will be a large selection of new books for donation, and books will range in price from $5 to $25.

The child who donates the new book will be the first one to borrow that book and a special book plate, with the child’s name, will be placed in the front of the book.  Over the years, many families have been very generous with donating, and this ensures our library is filled with beautiful books.

If you are unable to come on the day but would still like to donate, a prepay form that allows your child/ren to select a book will be available in the next newsletter (T3, W2)

Book Week 2025  - ‘Book An Adventure’

This year we will be celebrating Book Week in Term 3, Week 3 (Tuesday 5th August) along with Education Day and our 60th Anniversary.

Book Week is an annual celebration of books for children and young adults. We celebrate a love of reading and all that books have to offer. The theme for this year’s book week is ‘Book an Adventure'.

During our library lessons children will be completing a ‘Book an Adventure’ page for display. They will draw pictures of their favourite book covers, characters, or scenes from a book.  These will be on display in the library.

Book Character Parade - Tuesday, 5 August (Week 3)

Children are encouraged to come to school dressed as a book character on this day. I will discuss this further with students during library.

We ask that children dress up in a simple costume that reflects a favourite book/story character.  Costumes do not need to be elaborate, or store bought, and, if it is possible just use items from home.  This is a fun day when children can enjoy ‘stepping into someone else’s shoes’.

Happy holiday reading!
