Sydney West School Sports Association Awards

We are delighted to announce that two of our students have been recognised at the Sydney West School Sports Association Awards. Join us in congratulating Eric S. and Evie B. on their outstanding achievements.

Eric S.: SWSSA Blue Award for Athletics

Eric has represented Kellyville High School, Macquarie Zone, and Sydney West Sports Association with distinction and has achieved outstanding results. At the Sydney West Athletics Championships in 2025, Eric placed first in Javelin and second in Discus, and at the Combined High Schools Championships, he won a gold medal in Discus and a silver medal in Javelin.

Eric has been enthusiastic in his commitment to sport over the past six years and has progressed into a fine athlete in his chosen sports of swimming and athletics, excelling in the last three years representing at both Association and State levels. As a result, he was awarded Kellyville High School PARA-Athlete of the Year in 2023, 2024, and 2025. Eric has been a dedicated member of all areas of the school community, especially within the Inclusive Education Faculty. He has demonstrated the ability to collaborate maturely with all staff members at the school, thereby earning the respect of his teachers. He is a highly visible, engaging, and confident student who has used his sporting prowess to build positive relationships on and off the sporting arena. His in-school work experience post-graduation allowed him to support students from the Inclusive Education Faculty, building his rapport with both teachers and students alike.

Eric is an exceptional sportsperson who has made outstanding achievements in the field of athletics. He has represented the Sydney West School Sports Association with distinction, making him a deserving recipient of a Sydney West Blue Award in 2025.

Evie B.: Certificate of Recognition: Athletics and Cross Country

Evie has represented Kellyville High School, Macquarie Zone, and the Sydney West Sports Association with distinction. At the Sydney West Athletics Championships in 2025, she placed 1st in the 400m and 800m, and 2nd in the 1500m. At the Combined High Schools Championships, she won a silver medal in the 800m and placed 6th in the 400m.

Evie was also a valuable member of the 4 x 400m relay team, where they achieved a bronze medal. Evie has not only excelled in athletics, but she has also represented Kellyville High School in netball and Sydney West in cross country. Evie has been a committed and valued member of her entire school community, consistently embodying the school's core values. Throughout her schooling, she has demonstrated maturity and respect for her teachers. Evie's leadership roles include serving on the Student Representative Council from 2022 to 2024 and then leading as School Captain in 2025 and 2026. She is recognised for her hard work, determination, problem-solving abilities, excellent communication, creativity, and organisational skills.

Additionally, she consistently prioritises the needs of others and effectively manages pressure with composure. Her appointment as School Captain in 2025 reflects the strong leadership qualities and character she has developed over the years, marking her as a fine young woman of exceptional calibre. Overall, Evie's contributions as a learner, leader, and athlete highlight her as an exemplary student who is a well-deserving recipient of a Sydney West Certificate of Recognition in 2025.
