Principal's Message

Parents and Friends 2026
We are still looking for volunteers to help with our Parent and Friends events. As we have not had any interest in the P&F President role, I am reaching out to see if we can find individual coordinators for the following positions:
- BBQ Coordinator
- Raffle Coordinator
- Special Person Stall Coordinator (formerly Mother’s Day and Father’s Day stalls)
- Movie Night Coordinator
- Hot Cross Buns & Mangoes Coordinator
If you would be willing to take on any of these roles, or share the responsibility with another parent, please let us know. Guidance on what to do will be offered. Every bit of support helps us continue running successful and meaningful events for our school community.
Please email Claudia via the school email address if you are willing to help with any of these as a coordinator.
Music Concert
On Monday night, we were entertained at the Online Music Solutions concert, where students wowed us with their amazing performances. Their talent, confidence, and enthusiasm shone on stage, making it a memorable evening for everyone who attended. It was wonderful to see their hard work and dedication come together in such an impressive showcase of musical skill.
Aussie of the Month
Jordan P
This student is an outstanding member of our school community who consistently demonstrates integrity, initiative and a commitment to building a positive and respectful class culture. Each day, this student arrives ready to learn, to contribute, and to support those around them. Their enthusiastic presence helps set the tone for their classroom, and their kindness makes others feel welcome and valued.
One of their greatest strengths is the way they care for their friends and for others. Whether offering a quiet word of encouragement, noticing when someone needs help, or stepping in to make sure everyone feels included, they consistently show empathy and compassion. Their actions, big and small, reminds us what it means to be a good friend and a responsible member of our community.
This student also approaches all learning tasks with determination and pride. They give 100% effort no matter the challenge, always seeking feedback, asking questions, and wanting to know their next steps. This student’s growth mindset sets a powerful example for their peers, showing that hard work and curiosity lead to improvement and success.
This year, this year 4 student has further demonstrated their maturity by joining the Year 5’s in the Let’s Talk mentoring program. In this role, they have shown confidence, empathy, and leadership, supporting their peers through thoughtful discussions and modelling respectful communication.
Integrity is at the heart of everything he does. He does the right thing even when no one is watching and shows honesty in his words and actions.
This student demonstrates care, effort, humility, and a quiet leadership that strengthens our class, 3/4W. We are incredibly proud of him and grateful for the positivity he brings each day.
Ella Z
This Aussie of the Month consistently demonstrates life-long learning by showing enthusiasm towards all aspects of school every day. They are dedicated to completing school work to the best of their ability and are self-motivated towards improving their writing, reading and mathematics knowledge and skills.
This student engages fairly and openly with all aspects of classroom and school life, navigating relationships with fairness and kindness, looking out for her peers and meeting classroom obligations.
She brings joy to the classroom daily and leads by example. It is my pleasure to announce the Junior school Aussie of the Month is Ella from FA.
Student Leaders
Thank you to all our student leaders this year who have represented our school with pride and dedication. Your commitment, positivity, and willingness to step up and plan special events and activities have made a difference in our school community.
A special thanks goes to Molly, Owen, Xavier, and Aria, who have taken on the responsibility of running our school assemblies and leading our special events. Your confidence, teamwork, and leadership have set a wonderful example for others to follow.
We are truly grateful for all the contributions of our student leaders, and we look forward to seeing how you all will continue to achieve as you move onto Year 7.
Congratulations to all the students that applied and presented their speeches for School Captain and SRC Presidents. To have so many students apply shows the high regard that students hold the leadership positions. Students voted to shortlist and then a discussion was conducted with the current leaders and staff.
Congratulations to our School Captains for 2026, Summer and Tattva, and SRC Presidents Mia B and Jayden.
A huge thank you to our candidates who didn't get a School Captain or SRC position. We are all so proud you. There will be many opportunities for leadership next year.
Year 6 Graduation
On Thursday evening, we held our Year Six Graduation at the New Hope and it was such a special, memorable night celebrating the incredible achievements of our students. This important occasion was a great opportunity for families to come together and for students to showcase all they have learnt and accomplished whilst at Mount Pleasant Road Primary School.
A huge thank you to the 5/6 staff for their organisation and preparation for the event.
Our Celebration Day today was an excellent addition to the festivities with a beautiful breakfast provided by our Year Five families. We are so grateful for the involvement and contributions from all! Students then enjoyed a sports excursion offsite.
We are looking forward to our final celebrations at the end of year Assembly on Friday afternoon next week.
3/4/5 Celebration Day
To celebrate the wonderful year we had in 2025, our Year 3, 4 and 5 students enjoyed a special end of year excursion.
On Friday, the students walked to Forest Hill Hoyts Cinema to watch Zootopia 2. It was a fantastic opportunity for the cohort to come together, relax, and celebrate their achievements after a busy and successful year. The students thoroughly enjoyed the movie experience, and the day was filled with excitement, laughter and plenty of happy students.
Thank you to all staff and volunteers who supported the excursion and helped make the day so enjoyable for our students.
Assembly in 2026
In 2026, we will be running fortnightly assemblies, alternating between Junior and Senior school. Please refer to Compass for the full schedule and specific dates of these assemblies.
In addition to the fortnightly program, we will hold a Whole School Assembly on the last day of each term.
