Colour Run Slime Celebration

A huge thank you to our incredible school community for your outstanding support of this year’s Colour Run! Together, we’ve raised an amazing $30,000 — a truly remarkable effort that reflects the generosity, enthusiasm, and spirit of our students, families, and staff. As promised, we celebrated this milestone with Brad getting well and truly slimed! Thank you once again for making this event such a memorable success.

Wear It Yellow Day - 28th of May

Wednesday the 28th of May is Wear It Yellow Day! We’re inviting everyone to wear something yellow and bring a gold coin donation to support Children’s Ground. Children’s Ground is an organisation that works with First Nations communities to create a better future for children and families. They focus on education, health, and cultural strength, led by First Nations people and their knowledge. Your donation will help support long-term change by giving children the opportunity to grow up healthy, confident, and proud of who they are. Let’s come together, wear yellow, and make a difference!

Year 5/6 Camp

The Year 5/6 camp at The Summit was a fantastic experience, filled with adventure, teamwork, and personal growth. Students took on exciting challenges, supported each other, and stepped out of their comfort zones with confidence. It was wonderful to see so many smiles, laughter, and moments of pride as they achieved their goals. Overall, the camp was a great success, and the students had an incredibly fun and memorable time together. Staffing Update

We would like to share some important news with our school community. On Friday 30th May, Margaret will be retiring from her role after many years of dedicated service in education.

Margaret has been a valued member of our school community since 2002. Over the past 22 years, she has made a lasting impact on the lives of countless children through her passion for teaching, her care for each student, and her unwavering commitment to helping every child thrive.

We thank Margaret for her many years of service and for the invaluable role she has played in shaping young minds. While we will miss her deeply, we wish her all the very best as she begins this exciting new chapter in her life.

Starting the following week, Brad will be taking on Margaret’s role, teaching 3/4EM on Thursdays and Fridays. We look forward to welcoming him into this position and as he also continues in his Disability Inclusion role.

Also, as many of you will be aware, the past couple of weeks have seen some changes in our staffing profile.

Erin continues to be on Personal Leave, with me stepping into the role of Acting Assistant Principal during this time. Additionally, Jake, our Leading Teacher of Disability and Inclusion (who you may have seen on the news in Vatican City last night!) has made the decision to extend his period of Long Service Leave. To ensure that we are able to staff the school in a way that maintains momentum towards our strategic goals while continuing to support our students’ growth and learning, the following staffing changes have been put in place for the remainder of 2025:

Brad Arthur will step into the role of Acting Leading Teacher – Disability and Inclusion. This is a wonderful opportunity for Brad and affords him the opportunity to continue his career progression whilst supporting the school and our students. Following Margaret Clark’s retirement outlined above, Brad will be teaching in 3/4 EM with Evey Chen two days per week. Adrian DeLandre has been appointed as the classroom teacher for 3/4BA for the remainder of the year.

Similarly, Refi Balla, will be stepping into the role of Acting Learning Specialist. Refi will be moving into the STEM teacher two days a week where he will continue to build our STEM program for the students of FNPS. Again, this is a wonderful and well deserved opportunity for Refi to continue his leadership journey and utilise his skills and knowledge to improve educational outcomes at a whole school level. Jenni Aarinen has been appointed as the classroom teacher for 3/4RB for the remainder of the year.

Chelsie Rowe will take on Jake’s teaching load in 1/2 JB each Thursday and Friday. I’m sure you will all make Chelsie feel very welcome.

It has been wonderful to see so many families in the yard congratulating and welcoming our staff. We look forward to seeing the exciting learning journeys of our students throughout the remainder of the year.

Have a great week.

Joe
