SPOTLIGHT ON PERFORMING ARTS
It’s been a busy and fun few months in Performing Arts! Here’s what we’ve been up to!
Prep – Have been learning Nursery Rhymes and performed them in front of the class.
Year 1 – Made finger puppets, and performed with them using funny voices and are now learning improvisation skills playing our new favourite game “Hot Seat!”
Year 2 – Made hand puppets and performed a made-up story with them showcasing their voice and movements and are now putting together fairytale plays to perform to the class.
Year 3&4 – Completed a unit on characterisation and chose costumes to represent their character and had fun creating a backstory, name and age for their character.
Year 5&6 – Completed their reader’s theatre plays, and confidently performed these to the class. They are now 2 weeks into a 4 week unit of dance with Active Arts Education, learning their dance choreography for this years production of Madagascar!
The main cast of the production have also been working really hard on learning lines and dances for the production, and we can’t wait to show you our amazing performances in August!
