Foundation - Spotlight on Learning

We had another successful in Foundation. We enjoyed celebrating Mother's Day with all of the wonderful woman in our lives, as well as participating in our Term 2 mass. 

Next week, Week 4 of Term 2, we will be learning and engaging in the following: 

Religious Education Focus

We are learning about Emmaus to find out where Jesus returned to his friends. We will be reflecting on Jesus' journey after his resurrection. 

English Focus

We will be revising Stage 2 sounds. We will be building words using these sounds, such as dog, lap, fan, lid. We will continue to read words with Stage 1 and Stage 2 sounds. Please check the reading pouch for the sound sheet every Monday.

Mathematics Focus

We will be developing our number skills for numbers 0-20 through the use of a number track. We will be using this strategy to count, identify 1 more and 1 less, and to understand sequencing. 

Social and Emotional Learning

We are learning to identify the uncomfortable emotions we might experience and identify strategies we can do to support ourselves. We will be involved in roleplaying different experiences and have a go at solving the problems. 

Auslan Focus

We are learning to use our facial expressions to add more meaning to our signing. We are learning to sign our different subjects, as well as sign our daily schedule. 

Reminders

No toys, stickers or pencil cases at school please. Students have everything they require for fun and learning supplied at school! If toys, stickers or other items are brought from home, teachers will remove the item and return it at the end of the day.

Please ensure you are packing your child brainfood each day!
