Year 3

Year 3 Learning!
Term 2
In writing, the Year 3s planned and created persuasive texts exploring whether children should own pets. They enjoyed coming up with strong arguments to support their opinions. Students learnt to use key words, link ideas, and build persuasive paragraphs. They then edited, revised, and proudly presented their work to the class.
In Science, the Year 3s learnt about living and non living things. We had the opportunity to visit Symbio Wildlife Park to consolidate their learning. They had a fantastic day and got to see a range of animals such as reptiles, mammals and insects!
In Mathematic warm ups, we focused on their times tables. They worked hard and focused on remembering their timetables which will help them in solving multiplication and division problems.
Term 3
In Visual Arts, the Year 3s explored how to represent the qualities of experiences and objects that are interesting or beautiful. They learnt about the artist Claude Monet and his painting style, Impressionism. Instead of capturing every tiny detail, Monet aimed to show how something appeared in a single moment. Inspired by his work, Year 3 created their own artworks using bright colours and Impressionist techniques. They did an amazing job!
