Parents Take the Lead in Supporting a Safer Future and 'Sprint for Change'
A big shoutout to the parents of the Amigos kids, (a Grade 6 basketball team), who have taken their team spirit off the sidelines and into the community!
The parents, who have supported their kids as teammates since Grade One, are now teaming up themselves as “Los Mayores Amigos” to take part in Sprint for Change – a powerful fundraising event hosted by BFT Preston in support of ygap’s Polished Man campaign.
Sprint for Change is a community fitness challenge taking place on Saturday 23rd August from 12pm to 6pm, where teams will jump on a SkiErg machine and sprint as far as they can in a one-hour time slot. It’s all in the name of raising awareness and funds to help end violence against women and children. Why? Because 1 in 7 Australians have experienced childhood abuse, and because in Australia, domestic and family violence is reported every two minutes.
The Amigos’ parents are setting a great example for our kids by turning community and friendship into action. You can show your support by:
- Donating to their team, Los Mayores Amigos - https://polishedman.com/v-amigos
- Or better yet – get your own crew together and create a team!
Team entry is $200, and all funds raised go to Polished Man. Teams can be made up of as many people as you like, and it’s a great chance to come together for something meaningful.
To get involved, or learn more, contact Trish at BFT Preston on 0438 300 382 or email preston@bodyfittraining.com — or drop into the studio, 739 High Street, Preston.
Let’s show our school spirit by getting behind Los Mayores Amigos – or joining them in the race for change!
