Support Our School Through the Container Deposit Scheme (CDS)

Dear Families,

I’m proud to share that our school is now officially registered with the Container Deposit Scheme (CDS) — a wonderful opportunity for our community to support both sustainability and student leadership.

 

What makes this initiative especially meaningful is that it was inspired and championed by our very own Student Voice Team. Our students identified the CDS as a way to reduce waste, protect the environment, and raise funds for the school — and we’re thrilled to see their ideas come to life.

 

Under the scheme, eligible drink containers can be returned for a 10-cent refund, which families can now choose to donate directly to our school using our unique codes.

How You Can Help

  1. Collect Eligible Containers Look for the 10c refund symbol on:
    • Soft drink and water bottles
    • Aluminium cans
    • Juice boxes and cartons
  2. Make sure containers are:
    • Empty
    • Uncrushed
    • With the label still attached
    • Rinsed (if possible)
  3. Return Containers to a CDS Refund Point You’ll find refund points at major supermarkets or dedicated recycling sites.
  4. Use Our School CodeAt the machine or kiosk, simply enter our school’s code when prompted. The 10c refund per item will be donated to our school.

To make donating even easier, families can download the CDS Vic app:

  • Search “CDS Vic” in the Apple App Store or Google Play Store
  • Register your details
  • Choose “Donate” when returning containers
  • Enter our school code for your area

The app also helps you:

  • Find your nearest return point
  • Track your returns
  • Save our school’s code as a favourite

What Will the Funds Support?

All money raised will go towards new sustainability projects such as a cubby house with a blackboard.  Every container you return makes a real contribution.
