Dear Students, Parents and Guardians,

Term 3 is progressing really well, and it’s hard to believe we are already nearing the halfway point of this short nine-week term.

Our Year 10 students have been treated to pristine weather conditions at Mount Buller this week for the Annual Snow Camp. We had 32 students attend, and all enjoyed a fantastic week. The growth and improvement shown in skiing and snowboarding has been phenomenal. With blue skies and plenty of snow, conditions were some of the best you could hope for in an alpine region. Students returned today feeling tired but satisfied after a challenging yet rewarding week.

Last week, all of our Student Individual Education Plans were completed, setting goals for the second semester. This is an important process to ensure all eligible students are supported in the classroom to achieve their individual goals by the end of 2025. A big thank you goes out to our student support team for their dedication to this process.

Also last week, Tina Binding and Liam Pain attended The Resilience Project (TRP) seminar in Melbourne. They will bring back valuable knowledge and expertise to further strengthen the TRP program and curriculum across all levels at Red Cliffs Secondary College.

Looking ahead, we have some exciting events coming up:

Whole School Athletics CarnivalThursday 21 August.  Students will be selecting their events during a House Assembly on Monday. We strongly encourage everyone to participate in events they are interested in.

Year 9 into 10 Information Afternoon & ‘Get VET’ SessionWednesday 27 August. This year’s session will run differently to capture a greater audience, including all Year 9 students during school time. Parents and guardians are welcome to attend.  Time: 1:30pm–3:10pm, Location: Red Cliffs Secondary College Lecture Theatre.

The afternoon will provide information about subject options for Year 10 in 2026.  From 2:10pm–3:10pm, there will be a Get VET presentation by SuniTAFE and the Skills and Jobs Centre, offering insight into studying a VET subject, managing workloads, and understanding what a day as a VET student looks like. The session will explain how VET integrates into VCE, VCE VM, and VPC pathways, as well as its career benefits across industries in our region.

Year 9 Confirmation Day (Subject Selection)Friday 29 August.  This will be a student-free day for Year 9 students to attend interviews with selected staff to confirm their 2026 subject choices. Bookings are now open, and we encourage families to secure a time that suits them.

We thank all parents and guardians for their ongoing support. We look forward to continuing what has been an excellent term so far and

Kind regards,
