John XXIII Rowing Club

Dear Rowing Families

We are entering the last week of our competitive season, which sees our rowers compete in the Allschools State Championships on Saturday, 9 August, at Champion Lakes.

The draw for this regatta will come out on Monday. Due to the number of entries, this regatta will not have finals like previous State Championships, and the fastest time across the heats for each category will be the winner. Rowers, please ensure you eat well and get adequate rest in the lead-up to the regatta.

While that will be the end of training sessions for all rowers, we will have our House Regatta at our Canning Bridge Clubhouse on Saturday, 23 August, which we would love if all rowers in Years 8 to12, could join us for.

Tickets for the Presentation Dinner are now available. This event will take place on Saturday,  6 September, at school. Details are below.

All Schools Regatta #3

We had a fantastic regatta last weekend. Our Year 8s raced in nine quads across the mixed, girls’ and boys’ quad sculls, and we hope they have enjoyed the longer learn to row program and the experience of racing with their crewmates. Sign up for rowing in Year 9, 2026 will be during Term 4.

The girls’ squad also participated in their first All Schools Regatta and it was great to see our mixed quads take to the water.

Uniforms

The new zootsuit is now in stock at the Uniform Shop. There is also a training top which can be worn under the zootsuit. The only compulsory item is the zootsuit for racing at regattas. There is stock of the old Zootsuit which can be worn. Year 8 students can wear their PE uniform to the race and are not required to purchase a zootsuit.

Stack Team App

Please download the Stack Team App if you have not already done so. This app is one of our main avenues for communication with rowers and their parents. This is the central place for training schedules, training updates, and rowers can contact their coach in case of illness or injury and missed trainings. It is important that all rowers and parents have access.

To get this app please go to the App Store or Google Play and download Stack Team App onto your mobile device, then follow these simple steps:

  1. Sign-up to Stack Team App. You’ll be sent an email to confirm your registration.
  2. Log-in and search for JTCRC, then request to become a member.
