Around The Primary

Dear Families
The celebration of John XXIII Day is scheduled for Friday 8 August. It is one of the special occasions during the year when the entire student body are involved in community celebrations.
The day will begin with a College Mass at 9:00am in the St Louis Sports Centre. The day will then continue with a ‘mini-fete’ organised by our Years 5 and 6 students. This mini-fete will consist of various games and food novelties, details to follow. On this special occasion our normal nutrition guidelines are relaxed but parents may like to provide guidelines for their children.
All the money raised from the stalls will be donated to Jesuit Mission and Mary Ward International. This is another example of our commitment to serve others.
All students are required to wear their sports uniform and House shirt for the day. They need to bring a snack for morning tea and a packed lunch. No canteen orders will be available.
Let’s pray for fine weather on the day and that a magnificent celebratory spirit will be present on John XXIII Day.
Kind regards,
Antoinette De Pinto
Head of Primary

Japanese Incursion
Students from Pre-Primary to Year 6 enjoyed a wonderful incursion this week by Aiko from ‘Wasabi Kids’.
The first show for the Junior Primary students was about the seasons and festivals in Japan. The second show for the Upper Primary students was about samurai and ninja during the Edo period in Japan.
Both shows were jam packed with lots of fun activities, games, songs and dance. Taro the samurai puppet was a favourite with lots of students. The students were all so engaged and enthusiastic throughout these cultural shows and I was so proud of them all.
