Year 2/3

Over the past few weeks, we have been learning some theatre games during our drama classes. Theatre games teach us how to be responsive to one another, how to maintain eye contact and communicate ideas through facial expressions and movement.

We have been using our text, “The Iron Giant,” as inspiration to create drama skits. We are reviewing the emotions and actions of the characters and using movement and voice to portray them as accurately as possible.

Drama is an enjoyable way to develop confidence in a range of settings, as is our choral poems that we are learning. We have begun to learn our second poem this week. We are concentrating on our posture and voice projection. Hopefully, we will be able to share these poems with parents at our assembly in week 8.
