Basketball
While Saturday’s semi-finals didn’t go as we would have wished, I would like to take a moment to commend the heart and hustle each of our teams showed on the court. For the 17 D, 15 B, 15 C, 14 A and 13 A teams, every player left it all out there, from the intense defence to the fast breaks and clutch shots. Even though the results weren’t in our favour, their dedication, teamwork, and passion for representing SPC was truly inspiring. Basketball is about growth, and these semi-finals will only make you all stronger moving forward, despite the results. A big thank you to the players, coaches, and families for your unwavering support and commitment.
Best of luck to the 17 B, 17 C and 14 C teams who play in the Grand Final this weekend for their respective divisions. I hope that the week off has served you well and that you are all ready to rip in. Please remember that grand finals do not come around everyday and should be cherished. Amongst all the nerves and excitement, don’t forget to take it all in and live in the moment.
Cricket
The cherry on top of a fantastic season for both the First and Second XI is that we will be hosting two grand finals this weekend. The Second XI will be at Hudson Park and the First XI will be at Breen Oval, both starting at 10:00 AM. I would like to send out a huge congratulations to everyone involved, especially Mr Simpson and Mr Allan for all their hard work and dedication throughout the season.
Also, best if luck to the 14 Gold team as they prepare for their semi-final this weekend as they take on Pirates in the Thunder League at Doyle Ground from 8:00 AM.
Baseball
What a successful weekend of semi-finals! Both our First IX and U16 Baseball teams have earned their spot in the Grand Final of their respective divisions, what a fantastic achievement. The hard work, dedication, and team spirit shown by both teams were incredible to witness. They’ve earned their place, and now it’s all about giving it their all in the final stretch. Congratulations to all the players, Mr O’Connor, Mr Tabbara, Mrs Warsop and families for their amazing efforts. Best of luck, we are proud of you already.

With that said, this weekend, our Senior A Touch team and U14 A team are playing finals this weekend against Redlands and Oakhill respectively, with the winners advancing through to the finals later that day. This makes for an exciting weekend of finals footy and we wish both teams all the very best of luck.
