Welcome to Kindergarten

It has been a pleasure to welcome Kindergarten to St Patrick’s library in recent weeks! Kindergarten students have been introduced to our Junior Picture Books. They have learned important library skills such as caring for books, where to put returns and how to line up and have their books scanned.

Thank you to parents and carers for your assistance in helping our newest borrowers to remember their library bags each week. A helpful tip is to put an alert on your phone to remember your child’s library day.

Once library skills are established we look forward to introducing Kindergarten to our non-fiction collection.

Congratulations Kindergarten - your library manners have been beautiful!

Premier’s Reading Challenge 2025

The Premier’s Reading Challenge has opened for 2025. All students in K-2 will be registered by St Patrick’s and will complete the Challenge in class time with their teacher. Students in Years 3-6 can choose to complete the PRC in their own time. Please see separate Compass post for further details.

Please Note: If your child  is new to St Patrick’s in 2025 (Years 3-6 only) and has completed PRC at another school please contact Mrs Wainwright at engage.01908@sydstu.catholic.edu.au  PRC accounts need to be merged so that students receive the correct certificates in Term 4.

Please also note that PRC passwords for all students at non-government schools have changed in 2025.

We would love to see our students and families using this wonderful resource! If you have a reluctant reader or your child has a special interest other than reading a novel, you may find SORA will inspire your child to give reading a second chance.

Prayers for Mrs Bunting

Mrs Cathy Bunting is currently on leave following the sad passing of her dear husband Paul. The students and staff miss her smiling face, hard work and dedication in our library. We know you will keep her in your thoughts and prayers.
