ATHLETICS CARNIVAL REMINDER

Our Athletics Carnival is fast approaching. After having a thorough read of the document and if your child is competing in any timed/measured events, please fill out which specific events they will trial for using the Timed/Measured Event Registration Form which will close on Thursday 20th March. If your child is participating in some or all of the grade events, you do not need to fill out any forms as stated in the information attached. All other details for the carnival can be found in the document below.

CROSS COUNTRY RESULTS

Congratulations to all students who gave it their best at our schools cross country trial on Monday 10th March. We were so impressed with the effort and  sportsmanship displayed on the day. This venue offers students an opportunity to challenge themselves with quite a steep hill part of the running path.

The day would not have been possible without our parent  volunteers, teachers and sport captains who contributed to the days success. 32 students have been invited to compete at the Sydney Cross Country Championships on 6th May at Sydney Motor Sports Park. Below are the results from the trial:

NRL TACKLE ONLY GALA DAY

What a success our NRL Tackle Gala day was. Congratulations to our Year 3, 4, 5 and 6 team who put in so much effort on the day! It sure was a day filled with excitement and sportsmanship. A big thank you to everyone who made the day possible and those that came out to support our teams. We look forward to more memorable moments in the future.

SCS Sporting Pathways - Representative

The Representative Pathway Sports will continue into Term 1 2025 with many sports already in the MacKillop Trial stage. This is because the representative sport calendar season with Sydney Catholic Schools runs from Term 4 2024 to Term 3 2025.

Year 5 and Year 6 students have the opportunity to represent St Patrick’s at trials to progress through the pathway system. The sports they will be able to trial for are varied and many are open to both boys and girls.

To be considered for selection to represent St Patrick’s students requires experience and to be playing the sport as a registered player at a high level of skill outside of school. This should be in the form of a regular, structured rep, Division 1 or equivalent A level competition. Parents had the opportunity to nominate their child via an electronic form last year. This form will be re-sent during Term 3 2025 to gather any new or updated information regarding your child's sport involvement outside of school. Nominations for this sports calendar season have closed as trials have commenced.

When a student attends a Conference Pathway Sporting event it is important that they take the documentation supplied by the school with them. Parents will also need to provide consent via COMPASS. Your child may not be allowed to compete without the form. Your child will also be given a representative St Patrick's Jersey/Shirt to wear in which they will need to wash and return after the trial.

If there is a change in your child's attendance to one of these events please email amanda.col@syd.catholic.edu.au so I can make the necessary arrangements to withdraw your child from this event. This is to ensure an accurate record on COMPASS and for the smooth running of the trial event.

SCS SCHOOL HOLIDAY CAMPS
