International Women's Day

Join us on Monday 10 March for our International Women's Day assembly commencing at 10.15am in the Multi-Purpose Sport Complex, followed by morning tea in the Library.  As our student speakers will remind us, International Women's Day is not just about women, it is about celebrating equity and diversity and recognising our roles as allies for and supporters of the incredible women in our lives.  We hope to see you there!

Secondary Interhouse Swimming Carnivals

The Years Seven to Nine and Years Ten to Twelve Interhouse Swimming Carnivals took place on Wednesday 26 February and 5 March respectively at the Albany Leisure and Aquatic Centre.

Students had the option to participate in either the Carnival or Championship (50m) pathway. All swimmers deserve commendation for their dedication throughout the day, with some even challenging themselves in the 100m Freestyle and 25m Butterfly events.

The 4x50m relays were a highlight, as teams raced against each other and the clock in a modified format due to attendance numbers.

Noteworthy individual performances occurred in both pathways, including spirited team games and the 25m relays.

Years Seven to Nine Carnival House Results:

1st Mokare: 2191 points

2nd Baudin: 2162 points

3rd Camfield: 1724 points

4th Wilson: 1642 points

Year Ten to Twelve Carnival House Results:

1st Mokare: 2398 points

2nd Baudin: 2174 points

The 100m P&D Miller Trophy, is awarded to and recognises the fastest recorded 100m Freestyle across the Secondary School, across Years Seven to Twelve students. At the Years Seven to Nine Carnival, results were:

  • Male: Year Eight Kalarney Williams (Camfield) beat his time from 2024 of 1:12.06,  with a quick time of 1:08.04.

However, unfortunately for Maddie and Kalarney, some of our Year Twelve students were able to win their place on the shield for 2025. Congratulations to:

  • Female: Year Twelve Liesel Freebury (Wilson) set a time of 1:11.32
  • Male: Year Twelve Ulrich Kriek (Camfield) registering a slick 1:02.58.

Bus Notifications

Water Corp and the City of Albany have advised that Ulster Road will revert to the STAGE 2 Detour from Thursday 6 March.

Please see the below Flyers for affected 737 and 738 services.

Ulster Road Update

We’ve nearly completed work to replace a wastewater pipeline under Ulster Road. This work will ensure a reliable wastewater service in the area, helping to shape Albany’s water future.

What to expect:

  • From Wednesday 5 March 2025, the northbound lane of Ulster Road between Angove Road and Martin Road will reopen.
  • From Thursday 6 March 2025 the southbound lane of Ulster Road between Lower King Road and Martin Road will close for approximately two weeks. This will ensure we can safely restore the area.
  • Over the coming month DM Civil will be removing the site office and project storage area near North Road and Lockyer Avenue.

We apologise for any inconvenience and thank you for your patience while we complete this essential work. We'll continue to keep you updated on our progress via email. To view a map of the work stages and timeline, please visit our website.
