Year 6 Leadership Initiatives

Year 6 Term 1, Leadership Initiatives
Our Year 6 students have been busy showcasing their wonderful leadership qualities throughout our Term 1 leadership program. After nominating initiatives to participate in, they have demonstrated dedication, teamwork, and initiative in their roles. Their hard work and commitment has made a positive impact, and we look forward to seeing their leadership continue to grow throughout the year.
Digitech Leaders by Spencer
Our role as Digitech leaders is to run coding clubs during lunch or recess to teach and educate students about coding. We have great experience with coding, so we can assist anyone who needs help. We teach the students by demonstrating games and asking questions to encourage learning. Beyond that, everyone creates their own games and seeks help from us leaders when needed.
Social Justice Leaders by Kalliopi
As Social Justice leaders for Term 1 2025, our role was to organise Harmony Day and review the Acceptable Behaviours Policy. It has been an eye-opening experience, not only leading these initiatives but also guiding the Year 4 and Year 5 SRC leaders in their new responsibilities.
Athletics Day Leaders by Reuben
As the 2025 School Athletics Day leaders, our role was to lead the warm-up, creating the moves and choosing the song as a team. On the day, we helped set up and organise everything, making it a great success. It was a fun and rewarding experience, and we highly recommend it to anyone considering the role!
School Tours Leaders by Ava S
As School Tour leaders, our role was to guide prospective families around St Joseph’s and showcase our amazing school. After receiving a helpful sheet and a practice tour, we were excited, yet nervous for our first tour. With each tour, our confidence grew, and we loved sharing our school with new families. It was a fantastic experience, and we highly recommend it!
Smoking Ceremony Leaders by Liam
As Smoking Ceremony leaders, we worked hard to create slides and visit classrooms to educate students about smoking ceremonies and their significance. We also ran a quiz to test their knowledge, and everyone was excited for the day. Unfortunately, due to the rain, the smoking ceremony had to be postponed, hopefully, it will be rescheduled soon!
We look forward to continuing our Student Leadership program in Term 2.
A huge well done to all of our Year 6 students for their hard work this term.
