Engagement & Wellbeing

Resilience, Rights & Respectful Relationships:
This term for Respectful Relationships our Grade 5 and 6 students have been learning about the topic - Stress Management. So far in this topic, we have covered what the word 'stress' means and discussed the other feelings and emotions that come with stress. Each student shared what stress management strategies they like to use. By doing this students were able to see some similarities with their peers and/or gain a few other ideas to help cope with stress.
This week in 5/6 Greer we played a collaborative game that lifts the mood and builds a sense of social support. We discussed how playing games and building strong social connections can help our overall mental wellbeing.
Here are some photos of the 'Anyone who...' game being played...
SWPBS
Its great to see that so many SWPBS Gugu stickers have been earned this term. We are already starting to see students who are ready to recieve their Bronze Certificate for receiving 25 Gugu stickers, which is fantastic!
As students earn individual stickers for displaying sepcific Positive Beahviours at school, these also contribute towards a Class Reward for their classroom. This is a great way for students to celebrate together and feel part of a learning community that values these positive behaviours.
Each time a class recieves their Class Reward, a puzzle piece is also added to the Gugu jigsaw in our new SWPBS display case outside the office. Students can then watch our whole school Gugu grow and celebrate as we get closer to one of their chosen Whole School Rewards.
Keep up the awesome work everyone!
