Mental Health & Wellbeing

Welcome to the new section of our School Newsletter. My name is Natalie Todeschini and I have been appointed the Mental Health and Wellbeing Leader Role as part of the Mental Health and Wellbeing Initiative Program that is currently being rolled out to schools across Victoria. I am very excited to be a part of this proactive program. I am currently in the final stages of the initial training and I am looking forward to sharing this knowledge with the school community.

We’re proud to be supporting Neurodiversity Celebration Week 2025! Neurodiversity Celebration Week is a worldwide initiative that challenges stereotypes and misconceptions about neurological differences, whilst providing opportunities to recognise the many talents and advantages of being neurodivergent.

When it comes to inclusion, neurodiversity refers to a world where neurological differences are recognised and respected as all other human variations. Neurodiversity is often used as an umbrella term used to describe alternative thinking styles such as Dyslexia, DCD (Dyspraxia), Dyscalculia, Autism and ADHD. But regardless of labels, neurodiversity is about recognising those who think differently, and everyone benefits from different thinkers!

We would like to celebrate our Neurodiverse students during Neurodiversity Week by including a short profile of them in our next newsletter. If you have a child or children in your family who would like to share and celebrate their Neurodiversity please email natalie.todeschini@education.vic.gov.au.

On Monday March 3rd we launched our first Breakfast Club. It was a great success with many happy smiles walking through the door, smelling the freshly made toast. It was heart warming seeing groups of children sitting around a table, having something to eat and catching up before the school day begins. The program will continue to run on Mondays, with more days being added as we go along.
