Principal Report

Mr. Lehane

School Council

We currently have several vacant parent positions on our School Council and would love to see more families involved! School Council plays an important role in overseeing school decisions and general governance. It involves attending just two meetings after school each term.

If you’re interested in joining, please speak with Mr. Lehane and/or collect a nomination form from the front office. Positions will be finalised at our AGM on Wednesday, 19th March at 4.00 pm.

Our AGM is open to all members of our community and your voice and input can make a real difference. At the conclusion of the meeting our new School Council members will be invited to stay for our March School Council meeting.

We hope to see you there!

NAPLAN

With NAPLAN coming up soon, I want to remind everyone not to worry. NAPLAN is just a snapshot of your learning at a single moment in time — it doesn’t define you as a student or a person, and it’s certainly not something you can fail.

The purpose of NAPLAN is to help us understand your strengths and identify areas where we can support your growth. It’s one of many tools we use to guide your learning journey.

Feeling a little nervous is completely normal, but there’s no need to stress. Just take a deep breath, stay calm, and do your best — that’s all we ask. And remember, if you need help or reassurance, we’re always here to support you.

For dates please see our "Important Dates" page

You’ve got this, and we’re proud of you no matter what!

Child Safety

Child safety and wellbeing at Bridgewater on Loddon Primary School information for families and the school community

Bridgewater on Loddon Primary School  is committed to providing an environment where students are safe and feel safe.

Our child safety framework includes policies, codes and procedures that explain how we support and maintain the safety and wellbeing of our students and protect them from harm. These documents are available on our website: https://www.bwaterps.vic.edu.au/

We are also committed to continuous improvement of our child safety framework. We are currently reviewing our child safety policies and practices to ensure they are up-to-date and effective.

Our students and families are important partners in this process. We welcome your feedback or ideas on ways we can improve our approach to child safety and wellbeing.

A huge shout out to Daryl and his team from the Terry Floyd Foundation (TFF) for their generous monthly donations of food and supplies for the Bridgewater PS’s Breakfast Club. We were so pleased to receive our first yummy package this week and to be a part of the many regional schools in Victoria benefitting from the work your foundation does in supporting students to ‘be there best, and shine!’.

For those wishing to know more about the origins of the TFF, here’s a little context as to why Daryl established the TFF.

The Terry Floyd Foundation was set up in memory of Terry Floyd, aged 12, who went missing while waiting for a lift home from Avoca to Maryborough, Victoria, on 28 June 1975.

The Foundation was established in March 2019 by Daryl Floyd, Terry’s younger brother, in response to the overwhelming support for the search for Terry. This inspired Daryl, and a small group of volunteers, to set up the foundation focusing on turning Terry’s legacy into a positive by making children’s lives better.

The belief and vision of The Terry Floyd Foundation is to help support children live brighter futures.
