State Cross-Country Championships

Congratulations, Josephine Ho!

We are thrilled to share the fantastic achievement of Josephine Ho, who represented Our Lady's Primary School at the Victorian State Cross Country Championships on Thursday at the Yarra Valley Racing Club.

Josephine put in a tremendous effort, finishing 13th out of nearly 100 athletes in her age group. This means she can proudly say she is the 13th best cross-country runner for her age in all of Victoria—a truly remarkable accomplishment!

We are incredibly proud of Josephine's dedication and hard work. Well done, Josephine!

What's Happening in PE this Term

Welcome to Term 3 at Our Lady's Primary School! We are excited to share what our students will be exploring in Physical Education. This term, our theme is sportsmanship. We will focus on how students can demonstrate good sportsmanship in lessons and on the playground.

Basketball Unit

  • Preps - 2's: Our youngest students will concentrate on the fundamentals of basketball. They'll practice dribbling, passing (catching and Throwing), shooting, and basic game rules. The emphasis will be on developing their skills and understanding the basics of the game.
  • 3's - 6's: The older students will dive deeper into game sense. They will refine their skills through various drills and participate in more complex game scenarios, enhancing their understanding of teamwork, strategy, and fair play.

Gymnastics Unit

All students will engage in gymnastics activities tailored to their developmental level. They will work on balance, coordination, flexibility, and strength through fun and engaging exercises. Each activity is designed to challenge them appropriately and help them progress in their physical abilities.

We look forward to a term filled with learning, growth, and, most importantly, fun! Remember, good sportsmanship is about respect, teamwork, and always doing your best. Let’s make this a great term together!

Warm regards,

Anthony Whitty and Jade Herd
