Term 3, Week 1

Dear Parents and Carers,

Dear Parents/Carers,

Welcome back to Term 3!  I  hope everyone had a restful and enjoyable break, and are ready for another exciting time of learning, growth and new experiences. We look forward to seeing the continued progress of our students and the vibrant energy they bring to our school community. Let's make Term 3 a fantastic and productive term!

I’d like to take this opportunity to thank our Semester 1 Class Captains for the great job they have done in carrying out their classroom responsibilities. They have demonstrated enthusiasm, responsibility and commitment to their Class Captains roles and also their excellent leadership in being exceptional role models to their peers is something to be so proud of. I would like to present our Semester 2 Class Captains. Congratulations to you all as I’m sure you will all lead by example by promoting our school values and expectations.

Next Wednesday our Preps will have reached a major milestone: 100 days of prep! The teachers and students may look a little different on this day as they will be dressed if they are 100 years old.  I look forward to seeing all the walking sticks and grey hair!!! Here's to 100 days of hard work, learning, and fun!

Next Friday our Year 3 and 4 students will be celebrating Mass at 9am with their Grandparents. The World Day for Grandparents and the Elderly is an annual celebration dedicated to honoring the wisdom, love, and support that grandparents provide, enriching our lives in countless ways. Pope Francis has chosen a line from Psalm 71 -- ‘Do not cast me off in my old age’ as the theme for the 2024 celebration of the World Day for Grandparents and the Elderly. We thank our grandparents for the crucial role they play in their grandchildren's lives. After mass grandparents are invited to the classrooms and school tour.

NAPLAN : We are pleased to inform you that the NAPLAN results for our Year 3 and Year 5 students will be sent home today. These assessments provide valuable insights into your child's progress in literacy and numeracy, highlighting strengths and identifying areas for further development. Overall our students have achieved impressive results, which reflects their hard work and dedication. As a school, NAPLAN assessments play a crucial role in providing our school with valuable data to understand students' progress in literacy and numeracy. This information helps us tailor our teaching and learning program to better support our students' learning.

As the colder months approach, it's important to ensure our students are adequately prepared for the chilly, windy Craigieburn weather. We encourage all parents to ensure their children are wearing the correct winter school uniform, which includes, school beanie, scarf, and gloves. These items are available at the school office. Thank you for your cooperation in this matter.

Please check the school community calendar for planned events and activities for this term.

Looking forward to an exciting term ahead.

God Bless and stay warm this weekend.
