BEAUMARIS SECONDARY COLLEGE ART SHOW

Reflecting back on Term Two's Art Show, please find below a link to watch all the action. It was a wonderful experience for our BRPS students artworks to be showcased to the larger community. A huge congratulations to Anika Horobin in 4Z for winning the Year Four Art Award. Thank you also to Beaumaris Secondary College for hosting this event.

IN THE ART ROOM

We are focusing on Threads and Textiles this term, exploring stitching, fabrics and weaving techniques. We have been practising tying knots, please find attached a video of beginning to tie knots. Top tip: tie a knot around your own thigh, find an old shoe lace, dressing gown cord, ribbon (something thick and easy to manipulate) then using your thigh as the anchor point (much easier than shoes on feet or things around waists) start practising tying knots, double knots and shoes laces. 

Here are some additional videos on tying a knot on a thread ready for sewing. Students can choose which way suits them best, as well as practising the techniques taught in class.

It would be wonderful to support the learning in school by practising these techniques at home and help build students confidence.

ART AUCTION

Here's a sneak peak at our Collaborative Canvas artworks we have been busy producing for our Parent Social Art Auction. This year, money raised will help the purchase of new ergonomic stools to upgrade our Art Room.
