Teaching and Learning
Ms Ashley Kuusela - Assistant Principal / Mrs Peta Phillips - Acting Assistant Principal
Welcome back to everyone and what a brilliant start we have had to Term 3.
I personally wanted to thank our community for providing such valuable feedback on our first Student-led Conferences. We always strive to develop and improve at Karoo and we value all of our teachers, students and community' feedback.
Student-led Conferences
I have taken the time to ask our students what they thought of the Student-led Conferences. Here is what a few students had to say.
Poppy FG
" I liked telling my Mum what I learnt. She was very happy".
Jasmine 1/2C
" I loved it! My Mum was proud of me, and I liked sharing my work with my Mum".
Bella 2F
" I thought it was fun and really good to show my parents my work. I liked sharing my Maths".
Chloe 3B
" At first, I felt a bit of pressure because I had to prepare. It felt a bit weird to talk in front of my parents and my teacher but once I started it went really well. It was pretty cool! I liked talking about my writing and showing what I had learnt".
Aiden 4W
" I thought that they were good. I was a little nervous to share my work at the start. I really liked that I could say how I was doing instead of just the teacher saying it".
Chloe 5D
"It was nice that I got to talk with my teacher one and one and have my Mum there too. I felt like I could express myself more with my Mum and teacher because I had the conference in my classroom".
Angus 6HB
"I thought they were pretty okay because it helped me share my work with my Mum and my teacher".

CLUBS @ Karoo
We have some new exciting Clubs happening at Karoo PS in Term 3. We have Garden Club, Cards and Boardgames and Think Science Club all starting this term. Of course, we still have our favourites, Lego Club and Craft Club. Please encourage your child to participate in our clubs and to remember that the Library is always open 2nd half of lunch and afternoon break.
2024 NAPLAN Results
Last week, students in Years 3 and 5 received their NAPLAN results. We are extremely proud of all of our students who participated and gave it their all. Over the coming weeks, teachers and the Leadership team will be analysing our data to celebrate success. which we have a lot to celebrate and as always to seek areas for growth. If you have any further questions regarding understanding your child's NAPLAN results, please do not hesitate to see your child's teacher, myself or Mrs. Ashley Kuusela.
I look forward to seeing you all around the school.
Kind Regards,
Peta Phillips
