This year’s National Science Week is coming in Week 6 (10–18 August 2024) with the theme Species Survival – More Than Just Sustainability. Unfortunately, due to the Ekka break, Science Week here at Marist College Ashgrove is going to be celebrated in Week 5. National Science Week is Australia’s annual celebration of science and technology where thousands of individuals – get involved and celebrate the contributions of Australia’s great scientists.
The Year 11 Science Ambassadors are going to be running a new activity each Break 1 throughout Week 5, these will be held in the Science Centre.
Monday: Whale Snot Analysis – Physics Lab 1
Tuesday: Kahoot Quiz – Science foyer (different prizes for Years 5-6, 7-9, 10-12)
Wednesday: CO2 in Water and pH testing – Physics Lab 1
Thursday: Microscopes in the lab – life in our creek – Biology Lab 1
Friday: Treasure Hunt – Meet in the science foyer
