Foundation and Level 1/2 ‘100 Days of Learning’
Last Friday 9th August, the Foundation students reached their exciting milestone of being at school for 100 days! The Level 1/2 students joined in the celebrations, with a special day full of fun activities centered around the number 100.
The students enjoyed dressing up to represent the number 100, and we saw lots of fun and creative ideas! There were 100 dots, 100 butterflies, 100 googly eyes, 100-year-old men and ladies, a Cherry Ripe costume celebrating 100 years, and many more! They enjoyed participating in some craft activities, playing Maths games, and writing about what they might be like when they are 100 years old.
Level 1/2 students reflected on all the progress they have made so far. Each class created a paper chain with 100 links showing 100 reasons they are grateful for school. They consolidated their understanding of the number 100 by producing a poster to highlight their knowledge in creative ways. It was fun seeing their ‘student voice’ at work:
- A monster with 100 eyes, coloured in groups of 10
- Flowers with 100 petals in total
- A fish bowl with 100 fish, coloured in groups of 10
- A list of doubles facts up to 100
Well done to the F-2 students! Here’s to many more days of learning and growth ahead!
