What’s going on in the Leadership Centre?
The Year 3/4 and 5/6 students enjoyed a fantastic afternoon at our Twilight House Sports running event. It was wonderful to see so many families and members of our school community come together to support and encourage the students as they participated with enthusiasm, teamwork and great sportsmanship. A big thank you to everyone who attended and helped make the evening such a positive and energetic event.
In the classroom, our Year 5/6 students have begun their Guided Inquiry project. Working collaboratively in teams, students are researching and designing a sustainable town that supports a specific biome. They are exploring how communities can live more sustainably while considering environmental needs, resources and the impact humans have on different ecosystems. In 3/4 students spent time investigating resources and sustainability, practising their research skills. This is in preparation for their upcoming project, which will also be looking at sustainability in the home and community.
Year 5/6 and 3/4 are also continuing to edit and publish their narrative writing. This week, in 5/6 we focused on adding illustrations to make our stories more engaging for readers. Students explored elements of visual literacy and how images can help convey mood, support meaning and enhance the overall impact of their narratives. In 3/4 we started to develop exciting endings and practice our typing skills when publishing our pieces!
Warm regards,
The Senior Team
