SCHOOL SWIMMING CARNIVAL

Last Friday was a fantastic day at our Annual School Swimming Carnival!

Students were very excited as they swapped the classroom for the pool. The day began with the house marchpast, with COX winning the points for their pride and team spirit. Later in the day, their "Stomp-Stomp-Clap" chant was a wonderful reminder of the fun and spirit of the day, and a great way to see everyone getting involved and enjoying the carnival together.

There were events for all students to participate in, from the competitive age races and medleys, to fun novelty events in the small pool. It was great to see students diving in and earning points for their house. In the true Sacred Heart spirit, every swimmer was determined to complete their race, cheered on by their friends until they reached the finish line. The winning house at the end of the day was NAMOI.

One of the highlights of the day was the student versus parent and grandparent event. Thank you to those family members who eagerly joined in for a splash. It was a close competition, but in our eyes, everyone who participated was a winner!

Congratulations to Harry, Georgie, Brayden and El who qualified to represent Sacred Heart School at the Armidale Catholic School Swimming Carnival in Inverell on Friday 27th February. We wish them the best of luck!

Many thanks to the staff for assisting before, during and after the Swimming Carnival. To the parents, grandparents and friends who came to cheer on not only their children, but everyone who took part. A special thank you to the everyone who helped out on the day in any way, especially to Sophie and the PTF who supplied morning tea, lunch and a drink for the students and their families.

It was certainly a great day with a positive and relaxed feeling around the pool. It takes a team of people to run days such as this and everyone'd efforts are appreciated.
