YEAR 3

FROM THE TEAM

Our students have been enthusiastically collaborating with other classes, working together to solve problems and build positive relationships. It has been fantastic to see them strengthening their connections within the classroom while also developing their teamwork and communication skills.

In Mathematics, students have demonstrated great resilience as they tackled subtraction problems involving regrouping. They have been challenged to think carefully about place value and apply effective strategies, showing persistence even when the problems became tricky.

In Reading, students have enjoyed exploring engaging and interesting texts. They have been practising answering both literal and inferential questions, as well as clarifying the meaning of unfamiliar vocabulary. Their discussions have been thoughtful.

In Writing, we have begun innovating our Talk for Writing text, Detective Paws and the Mystery of the Missing Ice Cream. Students have loved putting their own creative spin on the story. It has been lovely to see their imagination shine as they craft suspenseful and detailed narratives.

We also had our school photo session on Wednesday. The Year 3 cohort represented our school beautifully, continuing to uphold our school values when welcoming visitors. We are very proud of the way they conducted themselves throughout the week.
