From the Principal
We had a great day at our school Swimming Carnival on Friday last week. The sun was out just long enough to keep most of us warm for the morning. Thanks to Mrs Wicks for organising the day and to our parent helpers who stepped in to do a range of jobs.
Please keep the following mobile numbers in your phone for our relocation days. These numbers are our emergency mobile numbers and will travel with the school on these days. On days where we are at school, you can contact the office as normal.

Shrove Tuesday - Pancake Making:
Just a note to parents that due to our Relocation day on Tuesday the students were not able to celebrate Shrove Tuesday. We will make pancakes with the students on Friday 20th of February.
Smart Watches:
Just a note that smart watches are allowed to be worn to school. However we strongly discourage students from using these watches to call home during the school day (unless previously arranged with school leadership). This has happened multiple times this year already. We would really appriciate families supporting the school by encouraging their children to seek help from a teacher rather than have a discussion over the phone with their child.
Confirmation - May 17th, 2026:
The date for the Sacrament of Confirmation this year will be the 17th of May. If you are interested in your child participating in this Sacrament (Yrs 5 and 6 only) please contact Marcia Janky (marcia@smbelgrave.catholic.edu.au). In order for students to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation they must have also completed their First Reconciliation and First Eucharist.
School Closures:
An early note for parents that the school will be closed on Friday, 6th of March for a Professional Learning Day for staff. We will also be closed on Monday 9th of March for the Labour Day Public Holiday.
Last Day of Term 1 will be on Tuesday 31st of March for those families looking to get their Easter Holiday plans underway.
Bushfire Register Information:
Please find attached some FAQ responses from MACS around our change in Extreme Bushfire Day procedure. As per my SchoolStream, we now have a relocation plan in place for St Joseph's College for future closure days.
