Ensemble Changes

Following the Spring Concerts, our music ensembles are morphing into their 2025 formats and this means many students will be moving to new ensembles. Where this has resulted in a rehearsal day change, we appreciate your efforts to do your best to accommodate this. Although we are not yet sure of the 2025 rehearsal timetable, hopefully there will be minimal changes moving into next year.

Cycle 6 Assessments

Over the next few weeks, Instrumental Music students will be undertaking Cycle 6 assessments. These are the most formal assessments for the year, taking the form of a ‘mini exam’. Wherever possible, students will perform in front of two music teachers. Students will generally present two class works as well as selected technical work and sight-reading.

Leading up to these assessments, we appreciate your support in encouraging a bit of extra practice where necessary. In many cases, student performance in Cycle 6 assessments will be a consideration when placing students in ensembles for 2025. Also considered will be attendance and punctuality at lessons and ensemble rehearsals.

• Tuesday 3 December - Jazz Night - Stage Band and small ensembles. Ticket information to come.
•  Tuesday 10 December - Orientation Day - Various students and ensembles.
• Wednesday 18 December - Presentation Night - Performances TBC.

Sponsor a Seat in the PAC

With your gift of $300 (Premium Seat in the front section of the theatre)  or $250 (General Seating) each, you can play your part in continuing to upgrade and create a state-of-the-art facility for use by our students, as well as the wider community.
