KLA Feature - LOTE

Students in Year 7 Japanese have been impressing themselves with what they have learnt so far, considering they knew no almost no Japanese at the start of the year. At the end of semester 1, students were able to write a letter to a Japanese friend. Now, students are challenging themselves to develop a restaurant role play, where they will be waiters and customers. They are learning a lot of new vocabulary which they need to practise and practise so they can perform their role play with success.

Year 9 and Year 10 elective Japanese students have also been pushing themselves to learn how to manipulate verbs and adjectives to create ever more complex texts. They have spent the last few weeks developing scripts to create short films to enter into two competitions, creating thoughtful stories about appreciating life and friendships and comedic films about crazy cooking competitions and solving a murder mystery. The classes watched all of the films and voted the murder mystery, “She should have paid”, to be our school entry in the Linguafest Competition. All of the films will also be entered into the VideoMatsuri Competition.

Year 10 are also saying farewell to two of their classmates, Bree and Sabina, who will be spending 8 weeks at our sister school, Tokyo Junshin. They will be hosted by Yuna and Anju, who attended our school in Term 1. We wish them all the best and look forward to hearing about all of their adventures!
