Highlights of the Week

Holy Saviour Art Show

Tuesday afternoon we were treated to a wonderful display of art and creativity at the Holy Saviour Art Show! Well done to all the children for their amazing work and a huge thank you to Mrs. Olivia Turner for putting the show together and inspiring such creativity, innovation and artistry in the children.  Congratulations to Xavier Cheng for being the lucky winner of the Art Pack Scavenger Hunt Prize!

YABBA Voting

The Young Australian Best Book Awards (YABBA) is an annual children's literary event which encourages children to Recommend, Read, Rate and Reward their favourite books.   Over the last few weeks the children have been exploring 8 of the Shortlisted YABBA Picture Books:

Children voted on their favourite YABBA book last week and the Holy Saviour winner was revealed during their library lessons on Wednesday:

Congratulations to G.O.A.T by Kate & Jol Temple. As you can see from the voting board, the children of Holy Saviour overwhelmingly thought this was their favourite!

The official YABBA winner in the Picture Book category was Macca the Alpaca by Matt Cosgrove with the honours awards also going to I Just Ate My Friend by Heidi McKinnon and Frank's Red Hat by .Sean E. Avery.

Congratulations to all of the winners.  These books are all available in the library for children to borrow and explore.
