Sally Govett - Teacher Librarian
As we approach the end of the academic year, the library would like to remind students to return any overdue books and materials as soon as possible. This ensures that all our resources are available for others to enjoy, especially as we look ahead to the Summer holidays. If you have any books you’ve been meaning to return, please drop by the library before you head off. We want to ensure that everyone has access to reading and study materials for the holidays.
For those looking for great books to read during the holidays, the library has a fantastic collection of novels, non-fiction, and more. Visit the library and borrow your next holiday read before you leave for the break. Books also make great Christmas gifts so add a few to your list.
The holiday fun is in full swing at the library. The Christmas tree has been beautifully decorated by the school captains from Wyndham College and St JPII College, creating a festive atmosphere for all to enjoy. Students have been taking full advantage of the Christmas vibe by participating in a fun activity of making Christmas cookies. It was a great way to bring some seasonal cheer to the school community.
A big thank you to the Salvation Army for presenting a thought-provoking workshop on social justice, focusing on poverty and homelessness. The session was well attended by 30 students who engaged in meaningful discussions about the realities of social inequality and how we can all contribute to making a positive difference. This workshop was a valuable opportunity to deepen our understanding of these critical issues and inspire action within our community.
In the spirit of giving, the library is also serving as the collection point for the Christmas hamper drive, supporting those in need this holiday season. We encourage everyone to bring in donations of non-perishable food items, toiletries, or gifts to help fill the hamper. Your generosity will make a meaningful impact on local families, ensuring that they too can enjoy a brighter, more joyful holiday season.
We appreciate your continued support and wish everyone a peaceful and restful holiday break. See you next year.
