STEM Club - AWS Girls In Tech Day
AWS Girls' In Tech Day was an inspiring event aimed at empowering young women to explore careers in science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics (STEAM).
The day featured a variety of engaging activities, including hands-on workshops, coding sessions, tech talks, and networking opportunities.
By offering valuable resources, mentorship, and real-world insights, the event encouraged female participation in STEM fields and fostered a supportive community for aspiring tech professionals. It was an exciting opportunity to inspire the next generation of women leaders in technology.
Australian Science Olympiad
Congratulations to our Wyndham College Science girls.
WSU Science Lab Day
Our Year 11 Science students had an exciting and hands-on learning experience during Science Day at Western Sydney University. The students participated in a variety of practical activities in the university laboratories, giving them a taste of real-world scientific work.
We are incredibly grateful to WSU for providing this fantastic opportunity, which allowed our students to engage with advanced scientific techniques and gain invaluable insights into the world of science beyond the classroom. This experience has sparked curiosity and deepened their understanding of the practical applications of their studies, and we look forward to further collaborations in the future.
UNSW Museum of Human Disease
The Year 12 Biology students had an engaging and informative experience at the Museum of Human Disease at UNSW, enriching their understanding of Infectious and Non-Infectious Diseases (Modules 7 & 8).
Students explored a range of diseases and their complications, including HIV/AIDS, cancer, strokes, heart attacks, diabetes, and genetic disorders, as well as the effects of drugs on human health. The guided presentation covered key diseases like cirrhosis, atherosclerosis, and tuberculosis, helping students to better grasp the real-world implications of what they have studied in the classroom.
This experience was an invaluable complement to their studies, offering an insightful look into the complexities of human disease and providing a deeper understanding of the biological concepts that shape our health. The Museum of Human Disease continues to serve as a powerful educational tool for students, bridging the gap between theoretical knowledge and real-world application.
