St. Peter’s College celebrated the Feast Day of  St. Teresa of Avila on October 10th.

Clyde North Campus were scheduled to attend Mass at St. Thomas the Apostle Church. Cranbourne students attended a Prayer Service in the St. Peter’s College Chapel. As can be imagined, the Chapel has limited capacity and can only accommodate one House at a time. This observation prompted the following reflection.

One of the few times that the entire St. Peter’s College community have come together. It was the St. Peter’s Day Mass, 2018 (Photo, left below).

The only venue that could accommodate over 1700 students, staff and guests was the Casey Stadium basketball courts.

The students were seated in the stands and much of the floor space (the basketball courts) was used as sacred space.

The Mass was concelebrated by Fr. Joseph Abutu, Parish Priest of St. Agatha’s, Cranbourne and Fr, Denis O’Bryan, Parish Priest of St. Thomas the Apostle, Clyde North.

The 2019 St. Peter’s Day Mass was also celebrated at Casey Stadium (Photo, right below). Logistical problems and two Covid19 years have prevented another gathering of the whole St. Peter’s College community.

Those present at either of the Masses were blessed and must have fond memories of the celebration and the sight of St. Peter’s College enmasse.

2024 Art and Design Technology Exhibition Clyde North Campus

The 26th Annual Art and Design Technology Exhibition at St Peter’s College Clyde North Campus, Tuesday, 15th October was a great success. Over 150 students, families, and friends attended. We celebrated not only the fruits of our students’ labour but their evolution as artists, designers, thinkers, and innovators. We recognized  their ability to harness technology to elevate their artistic expressions—a vital skill for future employees in any industry and we had a great night celebrating hundreds of artworks and design pieces created across all of our Art and Technology electives.

As part of the 30th anniversary celebrations of St. Peter’s College, past Principal’s Prize winners were displayed in the foyer and were impressive indeed. We were fortunate to be joined by two past winners being Nicole Carino and Edeser Monserrate and their families.

None of this is possible without the wonderful team of teachers we are lucky to have making a significant impact on student learning! Their support is crucial for fostering creativity and confidence in students. A big congratulations to Luna Akbari, who was awarded the Principal's Prize for Art, and to Kyah Wright, who took home the Peter Young Technology Award. Their work was exceptional and they are both deserving winners.

We must extend a big thankyou to the following businesses that so generously donated prizes to the subject award winners:

St Peter's College  Art, Tech, and Design Exhibition - Cranbourne Campus

The 26th Annual Art, Tech, and Design Exhibition at St Peter’s College Cranbourne Campus went off without a hitch on Monday, 14th October. With over 200 students, families, and friends attending, we had an incredible night celebrating hundreds of artworks and design pieces created across all of our Art and Tech electives.

There was a huge variety of pieces on display, including works from Art, Media, Art Creative Practice, Visual Communication and Design, Textiles, Robotics, Game On, Food Technologies, and Product Design. To top it off, the VCE Food Studies class catered the event, showing off their hard work and culinary creativity with a fantastic spread.

What made this year’s exhibition extra special was how it brought together students from all year levels, showcasing the journey they’re on in their artistic and technical studies. Our junior students showed off their boundless energy and imagination, giving us a peek into their early creative explorations. Meanwhile, our senior students pushed the boundaries, exploring deeper themes with technical skill, and using a range of mediums to express themselves in exciting and thoughtful ways.

Of course, none of this would’ve been possible without the dedication of our amazing art and tech teachers. Their guidance, encouragement, and expertise have helped these young creators bring their ideas to life. Whether mentoring juniors as they experiment with new techniques or helping seniors refine their final projects, our teachers played a huge role in the success of this exhibition.

A big congratulations to Michaela Lorenzin, who was awarded the Principal's Prize for Art, and to Jai Ortolan, who took home the Peter Young Technology Award. Both students truly stood out for their exceptional work.

As we wrap up this year’s exhibition, we’re already looking forward to the future of art and tech at St Peter’s College. The creativity, talent, and enthusiasm on display this year have us excited to see what’s next for our students.

Congratulations to all the students involved—you should all be incredibly proud! A huge thank you to everyone who attended and supported the event, making it a night to remember.
