Hello Everyone,
New Playgrounds
Our new Year 1-2 and Year 3-6 playgrounds are open!
Each class had an opportunity to explore their appropriate playground before they were open for use during break times. This enabled students to explore the new equipment with only a small number of other students, as well as an opportunity for their teacher to assist them with how to play safely.
The teachers were also keen to explore the new equipment and we enjoyed a quick play after school last Friday! So far, Ms Davies is the only staff member to make it up the warped wall.
Teeth on Wheels
Teeth on Wheels will be visiting our school again this term to do their 6 monthly review and oral health education, starting on November 20th. If you have not used this service before at our school, please use the QR Code provided in the information section of this newsletter to register your child, before November 13th.
If your have already completed the form for 2024, you do not need to register your child again. If you have changed any of your contact information, or your child’s medical history has changed, then you are asked to complete the form again.

Dear families,
We have had another exciting week at DPW!
Foundation Transition
On Wednesday 17th October, we welcomed our 2025 Foundation students as part of our foundation transition program. By welcoming the children into the classroom environment, it allowed the children to familiarise themselves with classroom routines, make new friends, and engage with teachers in a supportive setting. Ms Portelli was supported by Ms Lisa, Mrs Rogers and Ms Kim to facilitate the sessions.
Additionally, Mrs King and I had the opportunity to share school readiness information with the parents of these students. These parent sessions are important for both existing and new families by sharing strategies and resources to support their child's first year of schooling. By fostering open communication and collaboration through these sessions, we can create a strong home-school partnership that enhances each child's learning experience.
We look forward to seeing the students weekly for their sessions this term.
Year 2 Dinner
On Wednesday 16th October, the Year 2 dinner was not just a fun gathering, it highlighted the importance of cohort collaboration among the students. Coming together for an evening filled with games and laughter helped to foster friendships and strengthen connections, which are crucial for building a supportive classroom environment.
Our special visitor, ‘Andy’s Antics’ conducted fun and games. The students in particularly enjoyed watching how far a ‘water rocket’ could fly up into the air. Even Mrs King got into the fun of the experiment!
As the pizzas arrived, it was lovely to see students share their favourite slices. The evening ended with the refreshing Zooper Doopers, a sweet reminder of the joy in simple pleasures and shared experiences. Thank you to the Year 2 teachers for their organisation to allow this event to occur.
Looking ahead, we are excited for the Year 1 team’s dinner next week! It will be another wonderful opportunity for our year 1 cohort to come together, and we are looking forward to joining in the fun. These moments truly enrich students' school experiences helping to build lasting memories and friendships that extend beyond the classroom.
Kind regards,
