Class Placements

Each year, our educators devote significant time and thought to the process of allocating children into classes for the following year.

Over the next few weeks in INSPIRE, I will be asking for any input from parents regarding the 2025 class allocations. If you have any significant information that you believe should be considered during the class allocation process for next year, please email me using the address below. Please note that we do not invite or consider requests from parents regarding specific teachers.

As always, we take seriously the trust you place in us as educators to make the best decisions we possibly can for all children.

Any information can be shared with me at gbuxton@stpaulba.sa.edu.au and must be received by Thursday 31 October in order to be considered.

Thank you for your support with this process.

Literacy Professional Development

Recently our staff have had the opportunity to work with Lisa Burman to further develop their understanding of effective literacy teaching. Lisa is a renowned literacy consultant with whom we have had a strong relationship for a number of years.

On Monday and last Friday, St Paul teachers were able to watch Lisa teach writing workshops and conference with individual children before then spending time with Lisa unpacking the workshop and getting advice.

Our ongoing commitment to this relationship is one of the many strategies we use to ensure we are implementing effective teaching and learning practices at St Paul.

Contemporary Learning Tour visit

On Monday, St Paul welcomed twenty two visitors from Lutheran schools around Australia on a Contemporary Learning Tour. You may remember that Jess Robinson and I visited Melbourne last term on a Contemporary Learning Tour and we were honoured to be asked to be a part of this year's Adelaide tour. Our visitors were very excited to move around our school to see what learning looks like at St Paul and it was affirming to receive positive feedback about our approach to wellbeing, teaching and learning, learning environments and more. This is one of the many ways that being part of a network of Lutheran schools benefits St Paul and helps us to continue improving the schooling experience we offer our children.
