Last week our Year 3 cohort spent two days and overnight at Nunyara campsite in Belair, where children enjoyed a fantastic camp with team games and challenges and some great personal challenges that they managed with their best efforts and great collaboration and encouragement of one another.
This week our Year 5s and 6s are on camp. The Year 5 group are in Adare in Victor Harbor for a beach aquatics camp, spending time on the beach, and on and in the water learning about water safety, body boarding and collaborating for team challenges. The Year 6 group are enjoying the challenge of their aquatics camp on the Murray River in Swanport. This camp is non-stop kayaking, sailing, knee-boarding, paddle boarding and skiing for three days. These children learn so much in a short space of time about water safety and handling various watercraft.
Congratulations to the Year 3s, Year 5s and Year 6s for their achievements and thank you to the teaching staff and parent volunteers on these camps who worked tirelessly day and night to enable these experiences for our children.
Earlier this week, some of our teachers received a surprise visit from State Member for Enfield, Andrea Michaels. Ms Michaels presented an award to the teachers nominated by their colleagues:
Miss Karly Bartlett
Ms Kristen Harris
Miss Georgia Huxtable
Mrs Nicole Tew
Thank you to those teachers who nominated a colleague and to Karly, Kristen, Georgia and Nicole for inspiring your fellow teachers. Thank you to all teachers for your dedication to children and learning.
Families may have seen our social media posts referring to the Prospect Spring Fair coming up this Saturday, 26th October. We are aiming to create a ‘classroom’ as our stall to show prospective families what classroom learning looks like at St Paul. If you are heading to the fair at Broadview Oval, please drop by, say hello, and maybe your children can let us know if we got the classroom looking right!
If you know any families who are beginning their search for a school option, please encourage them to visit us at the fair. Our upcoming school tours for prospective enrolments are:
We also offer negotiated tour times for families where the listed tours are not an option for them. Please encourage your friends not to despair, and to contact the school office, or registrar Laura Azzopardi on lazzopardi@stpaulba.sa.edu.au. Better yet, they can see us in person at the Prospect Fair.
