Outdoor Ed Camp

On Monday, some of our Year 7 and Year 8 students embarked on their Outdoor Ed Camp at Paton Park. The experience was a blend of learning, teamwork and connection with nature, creating lasting memories for everyone involved. Upon arrival, we quickly set up our camp and had a quick snack before the activities began. We started with team rotations where students learned vital skills such as outdoor first aid, how to make kindling and building a stretcher and shelter. These practical lessons not only equipped everyone with valuable knowledge but also fostered collaboration and communication among the teams.

As evening fell, we gathered around the campfire where each group cooked their own dinner. The crackling fire set the stage for games and a devotional time that encouraged reflection. A highlight of the night was attempting to make damper where most of our students succeed once Mr Upton finally figured out the perfect amount of water! After a few more games, it was time to wind down to get ready for a big day the on Tuesday. 

Tuesday morning we enjoyed some breakfast before packing up camp. Before we left Paton Park, we participated in more team rotations that challenged us to work closely together, navigating obstacles and supporting one another. Our journey finished with a hike at the Castra Circuit, where we were treated to the amazing sights of Silver Falls and Step Falls. Surrounded by nature’s beauty, it was the perfect end to our outdoor experience.

Recreation Day Public Holiday

School will be closed on Monday 4th November for the Recreation Day public holiday.
