Grandparents & Special Friends Liturgy
Today we gathered as a faith-filled community to celebrate our Grandparents and Special Friends Liturgy, a cherished occasion to give thanks to God for the gift of family, love, and faith shared across generations. We honour the important role that grandparents and special friends play in guiding our students with wisdom, kindness, and faith-filled example.
A heartfelt thank you to our Year 1 students for leading us so reverently in prayer, and to their dedicated teachers, Mrs Correy, Mrs Martin, and Mrs D’Intini for preparing such a beautiful and joy-filled celebration. It was truly a blessing to see so many grandparents and special friends gathered with us in faith and thanksgiving this morning.
Confirmation Retreat Day
Today, our Year 6 students took part in their Confirmation Retreat Day a sacred time to pause, pray, and reflect on the presence of the Holy Spirit in their lives as they prepare to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation. Guided by Mrs Smith and Mrs O’Dwyer, the students engaged in meaningful reflection, discussion, and prayer, deepening their understanding of the gifts and fruits of the Spirit.
We were also blessed to have Mrs Marinelli share stories from her recent pilgrimage and make wonderful connections to St Francis enriching the students’ learning and faith understanding, particularly for those preparing to take his name as their Confirmation saint. A sincere thanks as well, to Fr Gallacher for joining us to offer the Sacrament of Reconciliation to each candidate, allowing them to prepare their hearts to receive God’s grace more fully.
We ask our school and parish community to keep our Confirmation candidates in their prayers as they continue their faith journey towards receiving this sacrament on Wednesday, 30 October at 6:00 pm at St Patrick’s Cathedral. All families are warmly invited to share in this joyful celebration of faith, held in partnership with our parish schools St Roch’s and St Mary’s and our wider parish community.
