Blue Class News – Year 5/6 Term 4, Week 2

It’s hard to believe we’re already in Week 2 of Term 4, this year has flown by so quickly! Our Year 6 students are beginning their final term of primary school, preparing for the exciting transition to high school. It’s a time filled with mixed emotions, excitement, anticipation, and a touch of nostalgia. Meanwhile, our Year 5 students are stepping up as future leaders, beginning to draft and practise their captaincy speeches. These will be presented in Week 5 (Friday), with details about the exact time to be shared soon.

In English, we’ve been focusing on both story and letter writing. One of the highlights this term has been writing heartfelt letters to residents at The Villa and creating beautiful clay pots to accompany them. The students showed great empathy and care, it was truly a heart-warming project to watch unfold.

In Mathematics, we’ve been doing daily check-ins and using board work to revisit key concepts across all strands. This has helped us identify and strengthen any learning gaps, ensuring all students feel confident and prepared as the year comes to a close.

Finally, our Wild at Art competition entries are now complete, and we couldn’t be prouder of the effort, creativity, and thought that each student poured into their work. The results are stunning, a testament to their imagination and growing artistic skills.

Blue Class are ending the year with enthusiasm, kindness, and determination, it’s shaping up to be a wonderful final term!
