                                                                2025 House Captains

House Points:

Term Four House Points are back!!!!

Great to see so many students making positive choices and being awarded house points. Continue to be kind to yourself and others to earn house points.

Foundation:

Over the past four weeks, the Foundation students have been refining and practising their team building and Fundamental Movement Skills. The first lesson saw the students participate in a Tabloid Relay whereby they were given a variety of sport equipment had were required to perform a different movement with each e.g. balance a cone on their back while crawling from point A to B, bouncing a basketball with both their dominant and non-preferred hand.

The second lesson provided the students with an opportunity to work on their team building skills. We commenced by playing a game of tunnel ball followed by games which involved the large parachute (pictured above). It was great to witness the students work together and cooperative cohesively during each activity.

The third lesson saw the students revisit their overarm and underarm throwing techniques. The students moved around different stations using different objects to practise both their throwing techniques and throwing accuracy.

Year Three/Four

Over the past four weeks the Year Three/Four have participated in two different sports

The first sport was Lacrosse. This activity provided the students with the opportunity to practise some different throwing and catching methods via the use of a lacrosse stick. The students also practise scooping the ball and learning how to move effectively with the ball trapped in the basket. It was great to see the confidence grow in the students which allowed them to apply the skills to a modified grid game of lacrosse.

The second sport the students participated in was basketball. Before we moved into match play, we focused on refining and developing the core skills attached to the game e.g. dribbling, passing (chest and bounce passes) and shooting. These skills were practised in games such as Popcorn, Rob the Nest, relay races and Beat the Ball. After practising these skills over some time, we moved into a round robin tournament of games. It was great to see the teamwork and skill level on display.

District Summer Sport

On Friday 10th October our Year 56 students went off to represent our school at the District Summer Sport Carnival. We had teams entered in for Hot Shots Tennis, Cricket Blast, Volleyball and Basketball. It was great to hear about the wonderful time each of our students had at their respective sports. From the day we had both our Cricket Blast and boys' basketball teams progress to the Division Stage. We wish them all the best of luck and look forward to hearing about their results.

Division Summer Sport (Basketball)

On Thursday 16th October, select Year 56 students represented our school at the Division Summer Sport Basketball Carnival. It was clear that there was some serious talent present on the day which was going to be a great challenge for our boys. The team worked extremely well together over the course of the day and essentially made it to the unofficial grand final. Unfortunately, the team came up short against a quality opposition but their never give up attitude is something they should all be proud. Congratulations on taking away the runners up title.

Year 56 Region Hooptime

On Wednesday 15th October select Year 56 students represented our school at the Region Future Stars Hooptime tournament at State Basketball Centre. To progress through to the State Championships, each team had to place high enough in their respective pools to make the playoff game. Our girls team placed 4th in their pool which meant that had to play a 1st place school from another pool. Our mixed team finished first in their pool and had to play a 3rd placed school from another pool. I am excited to announce that both team won their playoff games and will now progress through to State on Friday 5th December. The students should not only be proud of the manner in which they represented our school but the way they conducted themselves as individuals during each game. We wish you all the best at the State Championships

Region Athletics

On Thursday 16th of October, eleven of our students represented our school at the Region Athletics Carnival. For those who have been a part of this program before, there is some serious talent on display. Our students (as per usual) gave each of their respective events their best. From that day, we had one student progress through to the State Championships on Thursday 6th November at Lakeside Stadium. Congratulations to all students for their efforts at the region carnival.
