School Wide Positive Behaviour Support

Supporting Positive Behaviour Across Our School
As part of our ongoing commitment to School-Wide Positive Behaviour Support (SWPBS), we are taking the next step in strengthening our whole-school approach to behaviour and wellbeing.
Starting next week, our focus will be on revisiting our Be Safe, Be Kind, Be a Learner expectations, with an emphasis on how these look and sound in our Learning Spaces. In addition, our SWPBS team will be conducting Learning Walks through classrooms. These short visits provide an opportunity to celebrate the wonderful work already happening at WPPS and to see how our shared expectations are being brought to life each day.
During these walks, we’ll be observing classroom displays, listening for positive acknowledgements, and chatting with students about how they are developing their understanding of our school expectations. A summary of key strengths and next steps will be shared with staff and the school community to continue building consistency across our school.
We encourage families to take a moment to read over and discuss the behaviour expectations for Learning Spaces with your child/children. Talking together about what these behaviours look like at school and at home helps strengthen our shared language and reinforces positive choices.
Thank you to all our students, staff, and families for your ongoing support in creating a safe, kind, and positive learning environment for everyone.
