Students will need to bring their lunch to eat on Kitchen Garden days this week.

Wellbeing

Students will continue to revise and work on expected behaviour from our SWPBS matrix.

CBL

In CBL we will research the geography of Australia together and then students will research a country from Africa using the same format and present their findings. You could ask your child what they have discovered about their chosen country's environment and climate. At home, you might like to discuss the country your child is researching and find some interesting facts they can include in their Keynote.

Maths

Students will be doing revision of fraction this week. We will also be continuing to explore how to read, write and use both analogue and digital time. Please encourage your child to identify the time in home situations and to utilise Mathletics for revision.

NOTE: Please encourage your child to continue to practise their multiplication facts.

Grade 3 students are expected to know their 2, 3, 4, 5 and 10 multiplication facts

Grade 4 students are expected to know all 10 x 10 multiplication facts.

Writing

We will be continuing to explore persuasive writing and techniques used to convince readers of the author's point of view. Our students will be taught the difference between the revision and editing process.  At home, you might like to spark a family debate by discussing a question that has clear pros and cons.

Reading

We will be reading the final chapter of Kensuke’s Kingdom this week. Before students read the chapter 10 they will be making predictions about how Michael gets off the island. At home ask your child to retell the whole story of Kensuke's Kingdom.

NOTE: After reading the chapter, we will aim to watch the movie 'Kensuke's Kingdom' this week. Please be sure to log in to Sentral and give consent for your child to watch this PG animation.
