Parent Wellbeing Night: Building Resilient Kids November 6th
5:30pm – 7:30pm | Rooftop Area | Free onsite babysitting available
We’re inviting all parents and carers to a hands-on Parent Wellbeing Night focused on helping children build confidence, resilience and emotional strength, together.
This evening isn’t about adding more to your parenting plate; it’s about sharing the same wellbeing approaches we use at school, so you can see how they work and adapt them for home.
Delivered by our Wellbeing Leaders, School Counsellors and Digital Technology Leaders, the night will include four interactive mini-workshops designed to be practical, positive and relatable.
What’s on the night:
1. Boundaries: Resilience Starts with “No”: Setting Boundaries That Stick
- Understand why it’s normal for children to test boundaries and how this is part of healthy development.
- See how clear, caring boundaries give children security and help them manage big emotions while reducing power struggles.
Discover practical strategies teachers use in the classroom that you can adapt at home to set limits calmly and confidently.
2. Strengths-Based Language: Spot the Strengths, Grow the Confidence
- Learn the approaches we use to observe and celebrate strengths in ways that naturally build motivation, confidence and resilience.
Gain practical insights into the “strengths language” we use to encourage children, showing how positive reinforcement and reflective conversations support growth and self-belief.
3. Coaching vs. Rescuing: Don’t Fix It – Feel It With Them
- See how we support students through tough moments without rushing to solve the problem for them.
- Explore the emotional coaching language we use in the classroom to help children feel seen, safe and capable.
- Take home a Problem-Solving Ladder, a tool we use at school to guide children through big feelings and everyday challenges, which you can also adapt for home.
4. Digital Safety: Raising Digitally Balanced Kids
- Understand how technology and social media affect children’s wellbeing, exploring research on their impact on focus, independence and resilience.
- Learn practical, research-based strategies to guide your child’s phone, gaming and social media use with confidence.
- Support a healthy family relationship with screens by building balance, self-regulation and readiness for the adolescent years ahead.
Why come along?
This isn’t about just sitting and listening, it’s a chance to connect, share and see what’s working at school. You’ll leave with practical tools, common language and a better understanding of how we can all support our kids in the same way.
